Award Recognizes Erland’s Dedication and Commitment to Supporting Autism Education

Southborough, Mass. – October 28, 2019 – The New England Center for Children® (NECC®), a global leader in education and research for children with autism, announced today it will honor Erland Construction, Inc. and the Erland Charitable Foundation 501(c)(3), with its Community Autism Champion Award for 2019 at the annual Children of Promise Gala on November 15 at the InterContinental Hotel in Boston. The award recognizes Erland for their commitment to supporting autism education and research.

“From our relationship with NECC, we have seen first-hand the impact their teachers and programs make on children with autism. All of us at Erland are delighted and honored to receive the Community Autism Champion Award,” said Steve Craft, President of the Erland Foundation. “Every child deserves the best education possible. Erland is proud to help NECC in their mission to transform the lives of children with autism.”

Erland, a leading construction management firm, has a long history with NECC. In 2016 Erland built the John and Diane Kim Institute, a three-story, 35,000 square-foot addition which houses research, professional training and technology facilities. During construction they were inspired by the students and founded the Erland Foundation, a charity that aims to increase awareness and educate the public about target causes and raise funds to improve the lives of selected groups in the local community. The Erland Foundation created the annual Strike Out Autism Night, a bowling fundraiser that has raised more than $60,000 for NECC since its inaugural event in 2016. The funds were used for education and research for children with autism.

“From day one, Erland has taken an interest in NECC and our work with children with autism. Their sincere interest and dedication to helping others led them to establish the Erland Foundation, and NECC has been fortunate to be a recipient of their commitment to autism education over the last three years,” said Vincent Strully, Jr., Founder and CEO of The New England Center for Children. “All of us at NECC are honored to bestow upon Erland our Community Autism Champion Award for 2019.”

Erland is a major supporter of NECC’s annual Children of Promise Gala. The Children of Promise Gala brings together hundreds of Massachusetts’s most influential business and philanthropic leaders for an evening of dinner, dancing, awards, and stories of inspiration. The annual fundraiser supports children with autism around the world by providing resources for autism education research, best-in-practice knowledge dissemination, and activities and provisions for NECC students to grow and thrive.
