ABAplus
ABAplus is The New England Center for Children’s online, self-paced learning platform. Paraprofessionals, parents, and caregivers looking to increase their knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA), and how to apply ABA principles when teaching children with autism, can register to take this course.
Applied behavior analysis (ABA) is the use of techniques that increase positive behaviors and reduce those behaviors that may cause harm or interfere with learning.
ABAplus includes two course options:
Introduction to ABA Course
The ABAplus Introduction to ABA Course is a shorter, 25-hour training designed to present introductory content appropriate for paraprofessionals and educators new to working with individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and other social, behavioral, and cognitive challenges. This course is appropriate for those who are not pursuing the RBT credential and want to build their general skills in ABA.
ABAplus RBT Course
If you are pursuing the RBT® credential, the ABAplus RBT Course meets the BACB®’s training requirements, including 40 hours of content.
About the RBT
The RBT is a certification established by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board for those who are responsible for the direct implementation of behavior-analytic services. This training program is based on the Registered Behavior Technician Task List and is designed to meet the 40-hour training requirement for the RBT credential. The program is offered independent of the BACB. Click here to learn more about the requirements.
