Our level 2 teachers work collaboratively to teach children, adolescents, and young adults in the areas of academics, socialization, self-control, activities of daily living, communication, and job skills.
This position requires some experience working with children with special needs. These teachers work in the school and group homes with some evening and weekend hours. While all teachers work collaboratively, a level 2 teacher will assist with educational program design, IEP development, and regular communication with parents and guardians for a student assigned to him/her.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work directly with a child with special needs
- Collaborate with specialists, other teachers, and aides
- Design and implement steps of students’ Individualized Education Plan
REQUIREMENTS
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; will consider individuals with pursuing associates or bachelor’s degree
- Reliable transportation
- Massachusetts licensure in Severe Disabilities preferred
- Ability to handle physical and mental aspects of the position.
