Direct-care instruction, supervision, and monitoring of the individuals on assigned team/caseload. ABA Therapists (Rehabilitation Counselors) provide instruction to individuals through the implementation of the scientific principles of behavior analysis (ABA therapy) across all hours of the day and in all environments. This includes knowledge and implementation of individuals’ clinical, educational, vocational, and daily living skills objectives. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Thorough knowledge and competent implementation of all individuals’ programs and behavior management guidelines implemented in residence, school, vocational, and community settings in a 1:1 or small group format, across all hours of the day.
- Implement behavior analytic procedures (based solely and entirely on the principles of ABA) across all domain areas including: communication; activities of daily living (personal hygiene); social, vocational, leisure skills; physical education and swimming; community and self-preservation
- Ensure all students’ safety and implement all safety procedures in response to challenging behavior
- Record and compile all necessary behavioral, educational, vocational, and daily living skills data accurately and in a timely fashion
- Care for individuals personal hygiene and illnesses
- Medication delivery and attending medical appointments
- Completion of all role responsibilities, which may include case management, depending on the position.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree (equivalent to US 4 year degree) in relevant field
- Current driver’s license and be able to obtain a valid Massachusetts driver’s license.
- Prior experience working with individuals with special needs
- Experience in the field of applied behavior analysis is preferred.
- Seeking a full-time position with the flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
- Physically, mentally, and emotionally prepared to handle all components of the position
- Successful completion of the NECC training program including CALM (non-violent self defense) including but not limited to:
- Protective holds, movements, and carries
- Ability to move quickly and confidently to intervene and pursue a bolting student
- Ability to pivot, knee squat, shuffle front and back, carry people, assist person to the floor, stabilize people in a standing, seated, prone and supine positions
