Staff Spotlight: Red Ramos

Ma. Regina Carmeli “Red” Ramos, a rehabilitation counselor for The New England Center for Children’s (NECC) Salem End Road residence, has worked at NECC for just about a year and is already making an impact on her team. She was nominated for Staff Spotlight by a colleague because she is a “passionate worker, who prioritizes her students’ well-being and fosters a positive work environment.”

Working with children with autism is fulfilling and impactful. It has helped me build deep and meaningful relationships with my students and their families. There is beauty in navigating challenges with these students and celebrating their successes.
Why NECC?
My best friend shared her experience working with NECC so beautifully that I wanted to experience it, too!
Have you taken advantage of any of the graduate or training programs at NECC? If so, how has this affected your teaching style?
Yes, I am currently earning my master’s degree in special education through Simmons University. This program has guided me in running programs with my students and how I can be a better teacher for them.

I love freediving! I used to do it every week back in the Philippines.
Who is someone you look up to?
