Staff Spotlight: Stephanie Deluca

Stephanie DeLuca has been working as a tutor in The New England Center for Children’s (NECC) Consulting & Public School Services Partner Program since January 2022. She was nominated by a colleague because she “shows up to work every day with a smile on her face. Stephanie is always so patient and understanding with each student she works with. She is an exceptional case manager and constantly takes on new tasks to help out with whatever is needed in the classroom!”

What is your favorite part of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is watching students gain new skills that help them in their daily lives. I also really enjoy making assignments that are fun, motivating, and tailored to a student’s specific needs.

Why did you choose a career in helping children with autism?

I am currently in a master’s degree program studying to be a clinical mental health counselor. I was looking for a job in the psych field to work in while in school, and I applied to jobs in applied behavior analysis (ABA). I’ve gained so much adoration for this field over the last few years.

Why NECC?

I chose NECC because I love how the work culture emphasizes growth for staff and students alike.

What is something about you that your colleagues might be surprised to learn?

I’m originally from New York, and I have a twin sister who still lives there!

Who is someone you look up to?

Dolly Parton.

What is your life philosophy or motto you like to live by?

“Love all, trust few, do wrong to none.”
