Claudia Todd, MS, BCBA, LABA, a Day Coordinator on School Street, has worked at NECC for the past year. She was nominated for Staff Spotlight by a colleague, “because Claudia is always willing to jump in and help support students and staff whenever needed! Her care and energy are unmatched!”

How long have you worked for NECC?

I joined NECC in the summer of 2025.  

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part is working with the students, of course! I leave work with a funny story or something that made me laugh every day.  

 Why did you choose a career in helping children with autism?

My uncle had autism, and I always felt drawn to working with the autistic community. I’ve been fortunate to gain experience in this field in different settings, previously working at a clinic focused on teaching social skills and now here at NECC.

Why NECC?

I was lucky enough to be offered a spot in the Western New England PhD program after my previous program closed. NECC welcomed me with open arms, and I have been so honored to work with the amazing community here.

Have you taken advantage of any of the grad programs or teacher training at NECC? If so, how has it affected your teaching style?

I am a PhD student enrolled with Western New England University! The program is challenging but extremely rewarding, and it’s amazing to learn from faculty I’ve admired throughout my career.

What is something about you that your colleagues might be surprised to learn?

I’ve been on stage with one of my favorite bands.

Who is someone you look up to?

I look up to my parents. They have supported me through the biggest changes in my life and have always cheered me on along the way. They are the best parents anyone could ask for.

What is your life philosophy or motto you like to live by?

I’ve really resonated with the phrase, “If not now, when?” recently. My life has changed a lot in the last year, which has been scary at times but incredibly rewarding.
