Pilates for a Purpose Brings Community Together

This summer, more than 100 people gathered in East Boston for Pilates for a Purpose: Tall Ship Edition, an afternoon centered around movement, connection, and giving back, all in support of NECC.

Alissa Tosches and Angela Juarez of Sculpt Pilates created the event in partnership with the We Close Deals Team, powered by Lamacchia Realty, Inc. Together, they wanted to bring three things meaningful to them into one experience: wellness, connection, and philanthropy.

For Tosches and Juarez, supporting NECC was especially personal. Both have connections to the autism community and have seen firsthand the impact of NECC’s work, and naturally chose us as the event’s charity recipient.

With the generous support of 18 sponsors and vendors, Pilates for a Purpose raised more than $3,000 for NECC. The day was more than just a Pilates class; the event brought together an incredible community of people who wanted to move their bodies, connect with one another, enjoy being outdoors on a Tall Ship, and make a difference for children with autism.

For Abigail Pacl, an NECC teacher, attending the event and supporting her cousin Alissa Tosches was especially meaningful.

“The Pilates for a Purpose event was a beautiful reminder of what happens when passion meets purpose. Alissa has a true gift for bringing people together, and seeing her combine her passion for Pilates and real estate to support autism education and research was incredible. As someone who works at NECC and cares deeply about special education, it was impactful to see our community gather to move our bodies, connect, and support the New England Center for Children,” shared Pacl.
