EoM-MarchThe New England Center for Children® recognizes the following employees for their outstanding work. Congratulations to our March Employees of the Month!
Ari Pinsker, Senior Case Manager
Ari began her career at NECC in 2014 as a Teacher and is now a Senior Case Manager. She graduated from Ithaca College with a Bachelor’s in Speech and Language Pathology and is currently enrolled in Simmons College’s master’s degree program. Ari has excelled in her role as Senior Case Manager, most apparent by the success and progress her case students have been enjoying. She is professional, follows all students’ behavior guidelines, and has a nice rapport with students, teachers, supervisors, and parents.  She has proven to be a resourceful, reliable, and dedicated member of the team.

Maili Scott, Level 2 Teacher/Back-up Shift Manager
Maili started as a Level 2 Teacher in August of 2014 after graduating from St. Lawrence University with a Bachelor’s in Environmental Science and Psychology. She has quickly become a leader on her team. She is always willing to help new staff with questions, and serves as a mentor to all the staff on the team. Maili has a positive attitude on shift, and is continuously focused on the health and safety of her students. Her case student is excelling across all IEP objectives, in major part due to her hard work and diligent oversight.

Samantha Sterbenz, Teacher/Case Manager
Samantha started at NECC in August of 2016 as a Teacher. She has a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Gettysburg College. She began in a family services role where she did an excellent job communicating with families and providing opportunities for wonderful photos and crafts to share. Recently, Sam has taken over as a Case Manager for a student, where she has excelled. She is dedicated to the progress of her student and regularly advocates for him in a variety of ways. She is an exceptional teacher, consistently running both academic and behavioral programs with high integrity.

Julia Szalwinski, Administrative Coordinator
As the Administrative Coordinator for two departments, Julia has an integral role at NECC that she completes with efficiency and enthusiasm. She began her career at NECC as a Cooperative Learning Intern from the University of Mary Washington. After graduating from UMW, she returned to NECC as a Teacher, where she became a Residential Coordinator. In August 2015, Julia joined the Graduate Studies and Professional Development departments. Her ability to organize her time proficiently and her willingness to take on new tasks with enthusiasm helps both departments tremendously. Lastly, Julia’s unwavering dedication to NECC includes running the 2017 Boston Marathon and raising eleven thousand dollars for NECC’s Annual Fund.

Christina Ty, Level 2 Teacher/Case Manager
Christina earned her Bachelor’s in Psychology from UMass Amherst and began her career at NECC as a Level 1 Teacher in February 2015. In August of the same year, she moved into a Level 2 Teacher position. Christina is an integral team player and an exemplary Case Manager. She goes above and beyond for her case student, ensuring that program materials are well organized, carefully monitoring student progress to ensure success, and modifying curriculum as necessary. Christina always arrives to shift with a smile and a positive attitude. It is evident to all who know her that she is a passionate and enthusiastic teacher.

Darren Wright, Teacher/Case Manager
Darren has worked with NECC since August of 2016. He is currently a Level 2 Teacher and Case Manager. Darren attended Lafayette College and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Psychology. At NECC, Darren quickly took on responsibilities as a Co-case Manager and did an excellent job staying on top of deadlines. Recently, he took over his own case, and has already demonstrated a dedicated work ethic, ensuring his student’s progress. Darren is extremely flexible when it comes to the scheduling needs of the team, and his calm and positive attitude helps maintain the team’s cohesiveness.
