With the start of another academic year, NECC and the Simmons University Gwen Ifill School of Media, Humanities, and Social Sciences communities would like to recognize 2026 graduate Mallory Cloran, who received the Vincent Strully Autism Specialization Award, named after our founder and former CEO, L. Vincent Strully.

This award is presented to a teacher candidate who exemplified Mr. Strully’s vision for serving children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and demonstrates the ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners. The recipient of this award possesses a talent
for designing and implementing individualized academic and behavioral programs, utilizing principles of applied behavior analysis and evidence-based practices.

“Receiving this award was an incredibly meaningful moment for me. My work with our students has always focused on helping them build greater autonomy, independence, and opportunities for success. To be recognized as someone who reflects NECC’s innovation and future vision was both humbling and affirming, especially given the award’s history and the impact Vinnie has had on NECC and its mission, shared Cloran.”

We congratulate Mallory on her recent graduation and are excited to see her carry on Mr. Strully’s legacy as a lead teacher and member of NECC’s Public School Services team.
