Staff Spotlight: Megan Beyor

Megan Beyor, a Day Coordinator on the Intensive Treatment Team (ITT), has been at NECC for about four years. She was nominated for Staff Spotlight by a family, “because she always single-handedly makes sure things run smoothly for our son. Megan’s support on the trips to Boston Children’s Hospital would not have been anywhere near as successful without her. She single-handedly made sure things were going to run smoothly for this appointment, and it led to a successful and stress-free experience. We are grateful to Megan and all that she has done for our son and our family.”

How long have you worked for NECC?

I have worked at NECC for four years after completing a semester-long internship in 2021.

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of my job is showing up to the amazing children each day and building relationships with them and their families.

Why did you choose a career in helping children with autism?

I chose a career in working with kids because getting to show up for a child and meet them where they are at, focusing on their individual needs, is so rewarding.

Why NECC?

The population that NECC serves is unique compared to those I have worked with in other schools. I also love being able to reflect on student progress across all areas of their lives.

Have you taken advantage of any of the grad programs or teacher training at NECC? If so, how has it affected your teaching style?

I am currently finishing up my thesis in the master of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program through Western New England University (WNEU) and studying for the Board CertifiedBehavior Analyst (BCBA) exam. Being able to directly apply what I am learning in the classroom to how I develop protocols and work with each individual student has made me a more effective clinician.

Who is someone you look up to?

Two clinicians that I really look up to are Gianna Davino and MaKenzie Briere. Since joining the ITT in 2024, they have been exemplary models of what kind, compassionate, and student-centered care looks like. I really admire their ability to support and train staff while creating an environment where everyone feels encouraged to learn and grow. They lead with patience and genuine care for both the students and the people they work with.
