The Mohammed Bin Rashid Center for Special Education operated by The New England Center for Children (MRC-NECC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri Hotel in Abu Dhabi, which will provide education, vocational training, and community engagement for MRC students.
Sheila Pickett, MS, BCBA, LABA, a vocational specialist in The New England Center for Children’s (NECC) Vocational Department, was nominated for Staff Spotlight because she is “passionate about vocational services and setting students up for success, both now and in adulthood.”
A unique component of NECC’s Vocational Department’s work in supporting students who are navigating the employment process is the creation of a vocational portfolio. This spring, Bobby, an IIP student, showcased his when he interviewed for and was hired as a brand associate at Old Navy.
