NECC Named an Official Charity of the 2024 Bank of America Boston Marathon

The New England Center for Children has been named an official charity as part of the 2024 Bank of America Boston Marathon® Charity Program. Through the Bank of America Boston Marathon Official Charity Program, the Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) provides invitational entries to the Boston Marathon to select non-profit organizations that focus on building healthy communities.

Each year, the Boston Marathon brings together runners from around the globe for one of the world’s most storied major marathons. This year, one of the international runners who will be running into Boston on April 17 will be NECC staff member Kerry Egan, a resident of Abu Dhabi, UAE.

For the last 13 years, New Jersey native and current Watertown resident Ashley Lagas has cheered for Boston Marathon runners as a spectator. This April, she will be on the other side of the ropes running and raising money for The New England Center for Children (NECC).   

Meet #TEAMNECC Boston Runner Rachel Vick 

Rachel Vick, a level 2 teacher at NECC, has been running since she was 13 years old. During the last decade, running has provided Vick with a number of challenges and opportunities, including the one to run the 126th Boston Marathon raising funds for NECC.

Meet #TeamNECC Boston Marathon Runner Alexa DiAntonio

Growing up in Massachusetts, running the Boston Marathon was always a lifelong goal for Bellingham native and current San Diego resident Alexa DiAntonio. Being able to raise money for The New England Center for Children while doing it has been a bonus.
