November 24, 2020

On Friday, November 20, the Board of Directors of The New England Center for Children ® (NECC®) released new mission and vision statements for the organization. The updated statements are part of the new Strategic Plan that defined goals and objectives for the next six years. The statements themselves reflect NECC’s purpose and act as guiding principles.

The new mission and vision statements are the result of a year-long process involving input from teachers, administrators, parents, Board members, and other key stakeholders in the NECC community. Led by the Director of Professional Development, Dr. Allen Karsina, PhD, BCBA-D, LABA, the strategic planning process benefitted from his thirty years at the Center. The mission and vision statements, together with a set of core values, were unanimously approved by the Board of Directors.

Mission: To create a global network of educators, researchers, and programs so that those living with autism may live fuller lives.

Vision: A world where autism is not a barrier to happiness, growth, and independence.
