Vincent Strully, Jr., Chief Executive Officer & Founder of The New England Center for Children (NECC), a school for children with autism in Southborough, MA, recently appeared on the Mike Barnicle radio show with Dan Shaughnessy on 96.9 FM Talk in Boston. During the March 28th appearance, Mr. Strully discussed the latest topics regarding autism and informed the station’s listeners about its impact on families. He stressed the need for funding of autism intervention research in order to reach the hundreds of thousands of children being affected.
Mr. Strully explained the tremendous resources NECC provides to children and families affected by autism by highlighting unique projects, programs, and upcoming events at the school. All programs offered by NECC follow the scientifically based practices of the Applied Behavior Analysis model for treatment.
Following an informational exchange with Mr. Barnicle and Mr. Shaughnessy, Mr. Strully answered individual questions from listeners and was invited to stay for an additional segment to answer the high demand of phone calls.
NECC has received national and international recognition with the United States Department of Education’s National Award for Model Professional Development and the 2005 SABA Award for Enduring Programmatic Contributions to Behavior Analysis.
Founded in 1975, NECC provides a comprehensive continuum of clinical and educational services to children with Autism and related disabilities. Today, more than 225 students are enrolled in one of the school’s programs that include home-based, residential and in-school services. The faculty of over 600 includes master’s and doctoral-level clinicians and teachers with expertise in the field of autism, Applied Behavior Analysis, speech pathology, special education, nursing, physical therapy, and more.
