For the first
time in 30 years, the Association
for Behavior Analysis held its annual
convention in Boston, from May 28,
2004 through June 1, 2004. More
than a thousand behavior analysts,
teachers, parents and graduate students
from around the world were in attendance
for presentations related to autism
intervention and learning.
The close proximity
provided a unique opportunity to
showcase The New England Center
for Children’s school and
talented staff. Many members of
NECC’s professional staff
were able to contribute through
their participation in posters,
symposia, and volunteer efforts
during the convention. Over one
hundred NECC staff attended all
or part of the conference.
On Saturday, May
29th, NECC hosted a reception at
the convention for all ABA attendees
including our staff registered at
the convention hotel in Boston.
This was an opportunity to network
with co-workers and other professionals
in the field of ABA, including some
of the following renowned leaders
in the field: Dr. Brian Iwata, Dr.
Murray Sidman and Dr. Richard Foxx.
On May 28th and
June 1st, NECC conducted tours for
interested ABA professionals attending
the conference. More than ninety
ABA attendees came to visit and
tour NECC.
