A Night of Music
Fourth Annual “A Night of Music”
On
Saturday November 13, 2004, the Parents Organization
of The New England Center for Children hosted
its 4th annual, "A Night of Music".
This exciting event included a silent auction,
live auction, a slideshow, dinner, and, of
course, music! To begin the night, guests
were entertained by the Worcester Polytechnic
Institute’s String Ensemble as they
enjoyed hors d'ouvres and cocktails while
bidding on over 100 silent auction items.
At dinner, Chief Executive Officer & Founder Vinnie Strully
said a few words before the guests were graced
with a very touching slideshow presentation,
depicting many of the students from NECC with
their families. Master of Ceremonies Dan Rea
directed the live auction and extracted many
laughs from the crowd. Guests then listened
and danced to WPI’s Big Band directed
by Rich Falco with special guest jazz vocalist
Linda Dagnello.
Saying this event was a success would be an
understatement. Besides a wonderfully enjoyable
night, over $100,000 was raised at the event,
as well as over $35,000 from the silent and
live auctions. "A Night of Music"
was a fun filled night enjoyed by everyone
involved, and all are excited to attend the
event again next year!
Next year, NECC will be hosting its 30th Anniversary Celebration at the New Convention Center in Boston on November 18th.
