The Boston Globe quoted Vincent Strully, executive director and founder of NECC, in a story on behavior analysis programs. The article noted that only about 40 universities - including Simmons, Northeastern, and the University of Massachusetts at Boston – currently offer such programs. In the article Mr. Strully said preliminary research suggests that with early behavioral analysis, 10 to 40 percent of children diagnosed as autistic may eventually grow out of the diagnosis completely and not require special assistance.

The Boston Globe featured an article on James Major, president of Allen & Major Associates Inc., on being named the Woburn Business Person of the Year by the Woburn Business Association. The article noted that Major, an avid golfer, organized the Allen & Major Golf Invitational four years ago to raise funds for The New England Center for Children. In its first three years the event raised $27,000.
