| Matt
is a delightful 4-year-old
boy who has been a student
in the preschool since August
2001. Matt is very active
and has a wide range of
interests. He loves playing
outside, riding his bike,
playing pretend play activities
such as farm house and the
castle, singing songs, and
participating in small group
activities such as circle,
art, and musical chairs.
Matt spends half of his
day in the integrated
preschool classroom. He
has made a lot of friends
here at NECC. He especially
enjoys opportunities to
play and talk with his
friends, such as during
free play and lunch. Matt
has made great progress
with his verbal communication
skills and typically uses
between four and eight
word utterances when engaging
in conversation with others.
He also enjoys integrated
gym, where he practices
his gross motor exercises
and participates in fun
movement songs. Matt follows
a schedule across the
entire day. He often has
“perfect days”
which allows more time
for both academic work
and fun activities. We
are all very proud of
Matt!
