"Dear Alex, June, Jen, Kristen,
Becky and Vinny,
Just a brief,
enormously grateful, note to say thank
you. Last Thursday we had a meeting
to develop Scott's second IEP. I do
not think I have ever participated
in a more thorough, professional meeting
regarding my son. (And trust me, I
had many meetings with our town prior
to Scott's placement.).
June, Alex
and Jen did an outstanding job. I
spoke to our LEA, and her comments
were; "I was so pleased and impressed
at how well NECC knows Scott and their
incredible attention to detail in
dealing with his challenges. It was
so refreshing to note that everyone
at his school has such an incredible
bond with Scott and that they care
about him. It really is the right
placement for Scott."
Scott has made
incredible progress over the past
year and our family is most grateful
for all the hard work you have all
put into his teachings. Ruth, all
your patience and hard work is evident
in Scott's progress.
From the bottom
of my heart, thank you so much for
helping Scott.
Vinny, Becky,
thank you for having such wonderful
people on your staff.
Jill

"Scott
was diagnosed with ASD at the age
of 17 months. He demonstrated significant
scattered behavior challenges for
himself and his family. Scott's psychologist
recommended The New England Center
and their proven programs as an alternative
to a residential placement.
Scott started
at The New England Center at the age
of 3 years. At that time, Scott could
not speak, rarely made eye contact,
and was described as one of the more
complicated children in the local
Early Intervention Center.
Today, two
years later, Scott is a gregarious,
talkative, social child, with an insatiable
appetite to participate. He plays
soccer, baseball, horseback rides,
rides a bicycle, sings in the church
choir and does so many typical childhood
activities.
I surely am
most impressed at how well Scott's
team at The New England Center has
been able to identify so many of Scott's
challenges and address them to a level
of detail to insure success. It is
also so comforting to know that the
entire staff is so fond of Scott and
truly has his best interest at heart.
Having a five year old child so far
away can be very difficult for me
and his family, however, above all
we know that Scott is safe and in
a most nurturing environment. I have
always felt most comfortable and safe
on my many visits to the New England
Center.
Scott has progressed
so far beyond my expectations as a
result of his past two years at NECC.
Not a day goes by without a neighbor,
fellow church goer, friend or family
member commenting to me how well Scott
is doing.
It was a long
time ago when I made that initial
call to the Center on a cold December
day three years ago... I will be eternally
grateful for the time and patience
The New England Center has provided
to me and my family.
Most Sincerely,
Jill
H." (aka Scott's Mom)
