Minutes from December 12, 2005


Attendees: Jonathan Towle, Marcia Grenier, Joyce Rosenfeld, Annette Lazilli, Sallie Wood, Peg Thompson, Susan Sleight, Carol Rosenfield, Ann Edwards, Alain Grenier, Colleen Schmidlein, Glenn and Kristi Dobbs, Susan and Bob Ruzzo, Pam Donlan, Tracy Sweeney, Jill Mark, Ellen Dougherty, Ali and Mike Fitzpatrick, Joe Ziska, Rich Martin, and Leah Lucier.

Approval of Minutes from 11/14/05: Minutes approved

Treasurer's Report: Please see attached budget. Of a budget of $12,000, the balance is $6,957.27 after staff appreciation expenses over the winter holidays.

Committee Business : Subcommittee sign-up sheets were passed around to all attendees and met with enthusiastic response. Formalization of these subcommittees to follow. There was a brief discription of each committee activity.

Activities (Colleen) - Family Activities, Fundraising - Night of Music, Legislative – track and inform members of Spec. Ed issues state and fed level, Membership – extend involvement of NECC parents, Staff Appreciation – organizing and executing a yearly calender of events aimed at staff appreciation.

Member Updates

Gala Update, Joe Ziska
Gala update, Joe Ziska: Joe reported that the gala grossed about $300,000
( $36K in auction alone). We were honored to receive an extremely generous donation in honor of Peter Gombosi by his friends. November 4, 2006 is already slated for a celebration at Mechanics Hall, in Worcester.

March is the 30th Birthday Party for NECC… no date yet.

Meeting adjourned @ 1950 – all members who were able moved on to celebrate the season at a local restaurant.
