Sub-committee updates:

Activities
There is a plan for holding another event at “Noodle, Noggin, & Bean.” The previous activity was a huge success, reserved for 2 hours just for NECC parents, and over 70 individuals participated. The plan will be to schedule another event this spring.

Staff Appreciation

The Staff Appreciation Dinner is tentatively scheduled for the 7th of May. Andy & Tammy S. will help to organize this legendary event. Traditionally this is a spaghetti dinner. Gift cards in small amounts will be requested so that each teacher would be able to get one. Jill D. volunteered her help, and Bob R.volunteered his wife’s help.

Fundraising

We had a Boston Marathon Runner, Mike K., visit the Parents’ Organization Meeting. They have already raised over $46,000! They have did an 11 mile training run this week. There are 3 other parents, 2 employees, and other individuals with connections to NECC. The Bob R. reiterated how successful the NECC 5K event was, and suggested that we work together. The Bob R. promised that “team Patrick” will double their previous fundraising. The suggestion was also made to have easier paper forms for those who do not routinely use computers to be able to pledge. Rich M. made the suggestion to work on increasing the number of families participating. Andrew B. suggested working to have a goal of involving 50% of the families. Bob R. will write a letter asking for help with this event. Amy Lipcon and Jennifer Eames are helping to coordinate this event. Tentative date is April 13 staring around 4 or 5 PM.

Membership

Bob R. suggested that we have a Parent Social and New Parent Welcome out in a more relaxed atmosphere out of the center. The suggestion was made to have more of a “cocktail party” organization such that people could eat and mingle. Using a poolside conference room was also suggested. Sunday night was suggested.
