Carlos Andrade

Carlos Andrade feels a special connection to The New England Center for Children. Like NECC staff and students, he knows exactly what it means to set a goal and work tirelessly toward it.

It wasn’t so long ago that Carlos worked as a baker at Dunkin’ Donuts. Today, he owns 44 of the donut franchises in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.

Even as his business has grown, Carlos has made giving back to the community a priority. He is a benefactor to the Jimmy Fund, the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, and to Cystic Fibrosis. He’s also a great contributor to NECC, he says, because he believes whole-heartedly in its mission.

“NECC makes a real difference in the lives of the children,” he says. “In giving them a chance to work, learn, and live with other people, NECC helps them to live full lives. NECC is special because of its focus on maximizing the children’s independence and eliminating their isolation.”

Carlos and his wife both immigrated to Bristol, R.I. when they were about 15. They remained friends and married in their late 20s, and today have three daughters.

In his free time, Carlos enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He is passionate about the good things happening at The New England Center for Children and plans to be part of the work for many years to come.

“I am very proud to be associated with NECC and to be able to help them,” he says.
