11th A Night of Music a Success for NECC!

11.15.2012
On Friday, November 9, 2012, The New England Center for Children hosted its 11th Annual “A Night of Music” event at the historic Boston Public Library.

The event, where proceeds go to support NECC's Annual Fund, included an extensive silent auction, live auction, dinner and music provided by the students of Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), directed by Professor Richard Falco. Dan Rea, Host of NightSide, WBZ News Radio 1030, again served as Master of Ceremonies.

Several of NECC's supporters were honored during the evening with the "Children of Promise" Award. The "Children of Promise" Award, given to those who share our commitment to NECC's vision of accomplishment, growth, and hope for children with autism, was presented to: James T. Brett, President of the New England Council; real-estate developer Tony Kwan, owner of Cosmo Land Inc.; and Stephen R. Woods, Executive Vice President and Head of Corporate Banking, RBS Citizens Financial Group, Inc.

Following the awards, Co-Chairs and NECC parents Ben and Joanne Niedermeyer spoke briefly on their experience with NECC and introduced a very touching slideshow presentation, depicting many of the students from NECC with their families. The evening ended with entertainment from WPI's Jazz Ensemble.

We would like to graciously thank all the staff and parent volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this event a success.  We would also like to recognize the generous sponsors who made the night possible, most notably our top Leadership Sponsors and event Co-Chairs Ben and Joanne Niedermeyer, Citizens Bank of Massachusetts, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Slatkin, BNY Mellon, The Kim Family Foundation, Lisel and Mark Macenka and Savings Bank Life Insurance of MA.
