Teaching New Skills to Students with Autism

Time: 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
This hands-on training includes an overview and practice of a variety of methods to teaching academic, social and language skills. Components of discrete trial instruction will be reviewed including skill identification, stimulus arrangement, prompting methodologies and data collection. Participants will learn how to utilize Incidental Teaching strategies across the day to teach communication and social skills. The use of Task Analysis methods to teach self-help, leisure and vocational skills will also be reviewed.
