Description: Two individuals will be participating in the Boston Marathon on April 15th in support of NECC and autism awareness. Be sure to support them in their efforts!

The New England Center for Children is proud to announce that on Monday, April 15, 2013 Mike Keohane , NECC Parent, and Michele Lawton , former NECC Parent, will be taking on the 26.2 mile challenge of the Boston Marathon on behalf of NECC through the  John Hancock 2013 Non-Profit Marathon Program . BothMike and Michele have run the Boston Marathon for NECC before.  In addition to the physical challenge of running a marathon, they will both
also be raising autism awareness by wearing NECC singlets during the race and have committed to raise a minimum of $7,500 each for NECC's Annual Fund.

This is an outstanding commitment from Mike and Michele. Please consider showing your support and helping them reach their goals here -- you can read and share their stories, give them messages of encouragement and thanks, and donate towards their fundraising total. We'll also be looking for a cheering section to stand with us on Marathon Monday!

"My son John gives me the inspiration to train, raise money and complete a marathon for NECC. The large amount of perserverance and endurance required for this event is small compared to the enormous amount of work John accomplishes each day at NECC with the help of his dedicated teachers and extensive school resources." - Mike Keohane, NECC Parent

"I will always be indebted to The New England Center for Children for teaching Jack to live and learn and be as independent as possible and for giving his family hope for his life and his future..."- Michele Lawton, former NECC Parent
