NECC offers a competitive benefits program to enrich the lives of our employees, both at work and at home. Our benefits are focused on assisting our staff members as they establish and maintain a balance between their professional and personal lives. For more information about each particular benefit, please see below. Complete details of coverage and eligibility are also available, please contact us.

NECC's employee benefits include

Professional Development

NECC offers tuition reimbursement for all regular employees who work at least 32 hours per week. One of our beliefs is that in order to be truly successful, it's necessary to create a work environment where each individual reaches his or her professional potential. Additionally, NECC offers a number of on-site graduate programs.

NECC offers both medical and dental coverage to all of our full-time employees. Health insurance is provided through Tufts, and provides two levels of coverage for you, your spouse or same-sex domestic partner, and your children. The plans differ primarily by the co-payment involved.

NECC also provides dental coverage through Delta Dental. Benefits cover services such as preventative care as well as more extensive treatment, including orthodontia. The plan allows users to choose from over 4,000 subscribing dentists, but you can select one from outside their network for reduced coverage.

403(b) Plan - Together with ING Financial Investments, NECC provides a workplace savings plan with a wide range of investment options tailored to suit both conservative and aggressive investment strategies. Employees elect their contribution levels subject to IRS allowable limits.

Target Benefit Plan (TBP) - NECC contributes to this pension plan to individual employee accounts. Employees are eligible for this plan after one year of employment and are guaranteed the investment when the employee becomes fully vested.

Supplemental Benefit Plan (SBP) - The Supplemental Benefit Plan is a profit sharing that is supported by contributions from NECC. The SBP is similar to the TBP in that employees are eligible after one year of service and are guaranteed the investment when the employee becomes fully vested.

Depending on the position and years of service, employees can accrue two to six paid vacation weeks per year. Some teacher positions start with a minimum of five weeks.

Housing and Relocation Assistance

Some positions include housing with the compensation package. Additionally, eligible employees who relocate from outside the New England area and the United States are able to take advantage of subsidized housing during the first year of employment.

On-Site Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

The EAP program is a free and confidential on-site service designed to help our employees and their families deal with personal problems that interfere with work or home life. Through meetings with our EAP Director, you can talk about your concerns and work together to generate solutions.

Life Insurance

NECC offers employees a life insurance benefit for one-half of an employee's annual base salary. For a minimal cost, employees can purchase additional insurance for themselves or dependents, up to a maximum of $500,000 for the employee and spouse and up to $10,000 for a child.

Long-Term Disability

NECC provides the families of our employees with financial protection through long-term disability insurance. At no cost to the employee, this plan pays a portion of the employee's income while disabled. The benefit is based on the employee's base salary and is payable after a 90-day waiting period.

Work/Life Benefits

On-Site Daycare and Integrated Preschool - NECC has an on-site daycare center and integrated preschool serving infants, toddlers, and preschool children of employees. It is available on a full- or part-time basis. Drop-in care is also available on a limited basis. Employees with children enrolled in the on-site daycare center may elect to have their expenses deducted from their salary on a pre-tax basis, subject to eligibility and IRS allowable limits.

Child Care Reimbursement - NECC recognizes that dependent care is, without question, an important factor in recruiting and retaining qualified employees. The child care reimbursement increases with additional years of service.

Our Employee Referral Program provides you with the opportunity to earn cash for assisting in our hiring efforts.

NECC is always on the lookout for other benefits to offer, such as discounted auto/home insurance, auto repair, reduced rates for health club memberships, and more. These benefits are altered continuously to better reflect the needs and interests of our employees.
