William H. Ahearn, PhD, BCBA
Director of Research
William Ahearn, PhD, BCBA, joined
The New England Center for Children
in August 1996, and currently
serves as the Director of Research.
He is also a Clinical Assistant
Professor in Northeastern University's
Master's program in Applied Behavior
Analysis, and is the ACE coordinator
for providing BCBA continuing
education at NECC. Dr. Ahearn's
research interests include assessment
and treatment of severe problem
behavior, resistance to change,
behavioral economics, and pediatric
feeding difficulties. His work
has been published in the Journal
of Applied Behavior Analysis,
Journal of the Experimental Analysis
of Behavior, Behavioral Interventions,
Behavior Modification, The Lancet,
Journal of Autism and Developmental
Disorders and has recently published
a book chapter in Making a difference:
Behavioral intervention for autism.
Dr. Ahearn is currently on the
Editorial Boards for the Journal
of Applied Behavior Analysis and
Behavioral Interventions and has
served as a guest reviewer for
several other journals. He is
also a co-investigator on an NIH-funded
grant with Dr. William Dube and
Dr. William McIlvane and is a
past President of the Berkshire
Association for Behavior Analysis
and Therapy.back
