Since its founding in 1975, The New England
Center For Children has remained true to
its original mission: providing state-of-the-art
education and individualized treatment,
with care and with respect, for children
with autism and other related disabilities.
We maintain a steadfast dedication to helping
individuals reach their potential and live
productively; to minimizing dependence and
maximizing independence; and to eliminating
isolation and increasing social, educational
and employment opportunities through integration
into all aspects of community life.
As a private, nonprofit corporation, our
commitment extends to creating a positive,
professional environment for our staff so
that they can work cooperatively toward
achieving NECC’s goals. We strive
to be at the forefront of conducting and
publishing research to further the understanding
and treatment of autism and related disabilities.
-
NECC knows that the “cure du jour”
approach to treating children with autism
is a hollow substitute for proven scientific
methods and programs. We use only those
methods that produce results and address
the full spectrum of autism treatment needs.
- NECC continues to be
dedicated to educating the student with
autism and providing support and specialized
training to sustain the family.
-
Respect for the dignity and individuality
of each child is central to NECC’s
values. Just as each child is unique, so
too are NECC’s goals for each child.
NECC strives to continually open new doors
for each student - helping the student to
reach his/her individual human potential
and to lead as productive and independent
a life as possible.
- NECC understands the
difference its teachers and staff can
make in the lives of children with autism
and other related disorders. Because of
this, NECC provides a unique opportunity
for individuals to become highly-skilled
and experienced teachers through its specialized
professional development model.
