John E. Marston is Vice President
of Commercial & Industrial
Lending of Eastern Bank. A graduate
of Boston College, he began his
banking career with United States
Trust Company in 1969 and has
since worked in the field of commercial
banking and community development
for several major banking institutions
before joining Eastern Bank in
2004.
John has always been active
in community affairs serving
as a member of the Board of
Directors for numerous corporations,
associations, and schools,serving
as Board Chairman of the Massachusetts
Community Development Finance
Corporation (CDFC) Board Chairman
of the COMPASS School in Jamaica
Plain, Board President of the
Newmarket Business Association
in Boston and as the Board Chairman
for The New England Center for
Children.
Over the past ten years John
has received numerous awards
recognizing his deep commitment
to effecting fundamental change
in impacted communities in both
education and business development.
These include the Citywide Educational
Coalition Community Service
Award, the Quincy-Geneva (Roxbury)
Housing Development Corporation
Community Service Award and
the Boston Chamber of Commerce
Small Business Advocate Award.
