James C. Burling, Esq.

The New England Center for Children is pleased to announce that Jim Burling joined the Board of Directors in December of 2000. Currently a Senior Partner at Hale And Dorr, Jim received a J.D. degree from Harvard Law School, and is a graduate of Grinnell College.

In 1996, Jim’s daughter, Amy, started in the Home Based Program at The New England Center for Children. After one year, she moved into the Early Learning Program. She started in The Center’s Day School this fall. Amy is very happy with school and she has progressed nicely. Jim continues to be impressed with the professionalism and dedication of staff and teachers at all levels at The Center. He finds serving on the Board of Directors to be “very satisfying, rewarding and enjoyable”.

When not working, Jim spends most of his time helping Amy, her older sister Hannah, and her two younger brothers Zachary and Nicholas, with their schoolwork and other activities. Jim’s wife, Peggy, is also very active at The Center with parent matters by serving on the Parent Advisory Board and being a Room Parent.
