2007 NECC Family hosts Strongman Competition in CT
The 6th Annual Lisbon Strong Man Competition (LSMC) was held in Lisbon, CT on June 2, 2007, with all proceeds benefiting The New England Center for Children (NECC®). The event, organized by Brian Kelly, uncle of NECC student Matthew Leone, was a huge success! At this event several strenuous activities were set up to challenge these strong men, including a tire flip and lifting boulders. About 20 contestants and 30 cheering fans were in attendance at this competition, complete with five strongman challenges, a raffle and some grilled food. After a long hot day, John Zelina proved victorious, incredibly winning for the third straight year, taking home the coveted LSMC trophy. Through the LSMC Brian was able to raise over $3,000 for NECC!
