2007 Groundbreaking: Therapeutic Aquatic Center
NECC Breaks Ground on Therapeutic Aquatic Center
Cold and rainy weather didn't dampen the energy surrounding NECC's Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Therapeutic Aquatic Center held on April 4, 2007. More than 100 parents, students, donors, and staff attended the celebration that officially commenced construction of the long awaited pool for our students.
Capital Campaign Co-Chairman Thomas Hollister (Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Global Partners, LP) kicked off the ceremony discussing the great milestone that The New England Center for Children has achieved. He added that although we have reached nearly $4.8 million (96% of the Campaign's goal), we must still raise $200,000 in order to receive grant money from The Kresge Foundation.
Vincent Strully, Jr. thanked all the generous donors, the Board of Directors, and Capital Campaign Steering Committee who have made it possible to provide our students with a much-needed swimming pool. In addition to the above individuals, students also helped marked the start of construction by participating in groundbreaking activities.
